DONATIONS TO CHARITY
The mission of the Pollys Club is to provide an inclusive and safe community dance space that supports self-expression and connectedness thus helping to address social isolation in the LGBTIQA+ community. The funds we raise are donated to charities focused on men’s health, women’s health, youth health, mental health and animal welfare.

Sex and Gender Education (SAGE) Australia - to celebrate Sydney World Pride 2023, Tracie O'Keefe is running a FREE 6-hour online training: Suicide Prevention & Treatment of Trans, Intersex & Other Sex and/or Gender Diverse Patients. This is for healthcare professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and others.

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital E10 West Ward Fund – Provide emergency funding to purchase meals for clients living with HIV/AIDS who are in desperate need due to the closure of many charity organisations and the strict lock-down and isolation rules in place. The Pollys club turned this cash request into physically producing 660 nourishing meals and distributing them to the clients in need.

Ecumenical Christian Welfare - HEART2000 for the provision of medications and treatment through Dr Phillip Seur of HEART2000 based in Pattaya Thailand. This is an unfunded charity that provides diagnosis, treatment and ongoing medication to Thais, Laotian and Khmer people who cannot afford appropriate treatment or who fall through the cracks in Thailand’s Government health system. The Pollys club donation is being matched by Ecumenical Christian Welfare and some of the Pollys committee members will be performing on the 20th March at a fund raiser in Thailand to hopefully add another $5000 to existing donations.

Bobby Goldsmith Foundation - funding for a variety of programs which cover everything from life skills to returning to work or study, thereby creating a safe and supportive network of people with a shared experience of HIV with knowledge and skills that enable them to take better control of their lives.

Beyond the Orphanage Foundation Australia - funding for 40 young people who live in rural and remote areas of the Kaski district in Nepal to travel to Pokhara for HIV/AIDS treatment over the course of a year.

Taronga Conservation Society - Emergency funding to care for koala's critically injured during the recent bushfires and to fund breeding programs to restore numbers and natural habitats.

Keeping the Body In Mind (KBIM) - funding the production of a short video to promote the services of KBIM. KBIM supports young people and adults experiencing mental health distress or concerns to improve their physical health and wellbeing, thereby helping to reduce the 15-20 year life expectancy gap for people that experience severe mental illness.
